Absentee voting means voting by mail or in person before Election Day, instead of at the polling place. Absentee ballots are available 46 days before an election. Any eligible voter may choose to vote by absentee ballot for any reason.
2018 Absentee Voting Dates
Primary Election- Friday, June 29, 2018 through Monday, August 13, 2018
General Election- Friday, September 21, 2018 through Monday, November 5, 2018.
Absentee Ballots for Regular Voters
Absentee voters can cast their ballot in three ways:
1. Vote in person at Maple Plain City Hall
During regular hours:
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm
During the extended hours listed below:
Saturday, August 11, 2018: 10 am - 3 pm
Monday, August 13, 2018: 8 am - 5 pm
Saturday, November 3, 2018: 10 am - 3 pm
Monday, November 5, 2018: 8 am - 5 pm

3. Absentee Voting by Mail
All absentee voters must first complete an absentee ballot application. Fill out the
download and print the application
and complete by hand or call Hennepin County Elections at 612-348-5151 to have an application sent to you by mail. Return your application as early as possible by any of the following methods.

An absentee ballot will be mailed to you within two business days. The absentee ballot will contain voting instructions and a return envelope. Be sure to follow the absentee instructions very carefully and return the ballot as soon as possible.
