  • The Paul Stinson American Legion Post 514 will be holding their annual Memorial Day service on Monday, May 29th at Lewis Cemetery beginning at 10:30 AM. Lewis Cemetery is located west of Maple Plain on US Highway 12 at County Road 90. Service will include guest speaker Dean Mooney and the Orono High School Band. The Legion will have a bin available for unserviceable U.S. flags. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held at Christ Luther Church (5084 Main Street East, Maple Plain). All are invited to attend this fantastic event.
  • The Maple Plain Historical Museum will be opened on Memorial Day (Monday, May 29th) from 11:30 AM - 1 PM following the Paul Stinson American Legion Post 514's annual Memorial Day service at Lewis Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to visit the Historical Museum and observe Maple Plain's rich history. We hope to see you there!
  • The City of Maple Plain has officially began its search for a new City Administrator. If you are interested in learning more about the position, please visit the Employment Opportunities page of our website.
  • Party in the Park is officially returning to Veterans Memorial Park in 2023 thanks to the Orono Rotary! This free event, held on Saturday, June 3rd from 5 PM - 11 PM, will feature live music, food trucks, and other fun activities. More information can be expected soon!
  • The Maple Plain Spring Clean-Up Day was held on Saturday, May 20th. Thank you to all individuals that volunteered their time to this event to ensure that it was run smoothly. We enjoyed seeing so many friendly faces on a sunny Saturday morning. Thank you to all that participated!
  • Thank you to all of the individuals that volunteered at the Rainbow Park tree planting event on Saturday, May 20th! The volunteers planted a total of 9 new trees in Rainbow Park to help build the City of Maple Plain's tree canopy.
  • Please keep an eye out for ponding areas this spring. The City is investigating excess sources of rain water entering the sanitary sewer system. The main sign of ponding is an a large area of pooling water that then recedes, but not into a storm sewer inlet. If you notice any ponding areas, please contact the City at 763-479-0515.
  • Join Councilmember Connie Francis at the next Cookies with Council event on Tuesday, June 13th from 4PM - 6PM! Cookies with Council are a perfect time to speak to your representatives one-on-one, so bring your most pressing questions and best ideas to share! This event will be held in the Maple Plain City Council Chambers (5050 Independence Street). Cookies and refreshments will be served!
  • Hennepin County is prepping for an upcoming mill & overlay project on Halgren Rd. south of Highway 12. The project is scheduled to take place later this summer. More information to come!
  • The City of Maple Plain is moving forward with a 2023 Sealcoating Project to improve multiple streets in our community. More details, including a map of the streets to be improved through this project, can be viewed here.
  • The City Council discussed personnel policies, Rainbow Park improvements, and City priorities during the May 22, 2023 City Council Workshop. More information can be obtained in the packet from this meeting.
  • The City Council discussed National Poppy Day, subdivisions, and fee schedules during the May 22, 2023 City Council Special Meeting. More information can be obtained in the packet from this meeting.
