Water Leak Detection

Water leaks in your home can waste hundreds of gallons, increasing your water bill for water you’re not even using. Identifying leaks early can save both water and money. One simple method to check for leaks is by inspecting your water meter.
  1. Make sure no water is being used in your house, including appliances like dishwashers and washing machines.
  2. Locate your water meter and look for a small red pinwheel on the face, which is a common feature on Badger meters.
If the pinwheel is moving, it indicates water is flowing through the meter even though no water should be in use. This movement confirms a leak. Addressing leaks quickly is essential to prevent further water loss and higher utility costs.
