The City of Maple Plain Public Works snow plowing and sanding operations begin when road conditions make driving difficult and are also dependent upon time of day, current snow depth, and forecast.
Not all streets within the City of Maple Plain are plowed by the City. County Roads, Private Roads, and State Highways are not plowed by the City of Maple Plain.
Hennepin County plows the streets listed below. If you would like to contact Hennepin County, you can call 612-596-0299.
The State of Minnesota plows Highway 12. If you would like to contact MnDOT you can call 651-296-3000.
To facilitate plowing, parking on city streets is banned between 1:00 am - 7:00 am from November 1 through April 15. In addition, on-street parking is prohibited any time three or more inches of snow has accumulated, until after the street has been completely plowed curb to curb.
Pushing, blowing, shoveling, or storing snow onto or across public roadways is a direct violation of Maple Plain City Code. Residents are encouraged to contact the City if this type of activity is noticed and to remind any private contractors they must adhere to our City Code.
It is the responsibility of property owners to remove snow on sidewalks adjacent to the property.
Occasionally, snow plowing will result in damage to mailboxes and sod. If you have snowplow damage, snap a picture of the damage, fill out the Mailbox Damage Form that follows and bring it in to City Hall, mail it or email it to email@example.com. (You can also bring the photo to City Hall and fill out the form there.)
