The City of Maple Plain encourages citizens to share their talents and perspectives by serving on a board or commission. Serving on a board or commission is a great way to become actively involved in city government and influence the policies, actions and progress of our community. Furthermore, citizen involvement and participation is vital to the progress of the city and improves the quality and responsiveness of public decision-making. The City Council appoints citizens who serve voluntarily.

The Maple Plain City Events Committee is always seeking new members. This committee plans and executes City hosted events including the Police vs. Fire Softball game, movies in the park, and the Community Picnic.
